Her friend giggled and winked at her. A delightful smile graced her face as her eyes lit up with the urge to tell her something.

“Opposites attract you know? Never know until you try…” She whispered into her ear. She scoffed. Dismissed it as an impossibility. Shook her head violently and glared at her friend.

His friend felt a connection. A certain chemistry between the pair. Looked at him knowingly and grinned. His eyes lit up with the knowledge of being able to tease him about something.

“You were looking her over just now weren’t you? Don’t try to hide it from me..” He whispered into his ear. He threw his head back and laughed. Didn’t think of it. Rolled his eyes and glared at his friend.

That night. All four were online. Chatting on one of many internet clients. Simply chatting. The two added each other’s e-mail address to the list. Simply for “friend’s” sake. They denied any willingness to talk to each other vehemently. But the layer of passion and longing lay hidden like a caged beast waiting to be unleashed under a mask of neutral acquaintanceship.

His hand hovered over the small wireless mouse. Not sure whether or not to double click her name. When he did, he hesitated over the posh white keyboard and then shut the computer down. He mulled over the blank silent screen before reaching for his sleek black handphone. He had gotten her number from his friend a few days before. But he had not done anything. He would not do anything. They were too different.

She wanted to call him. She had gotten his number from her friend a few days before with a knowing smile that made her want to punch her friend’s face. She had already memorized his number. She looked at the compact silver flip phone that rested in her palm and stared at it as if expecting it to ring at any moment.

Suddenly her favourite tune. Pachebell’s Canon in D Major started ringing with its little lilt from her phone. She stared at it and quickly pressed the answer button.

“Hey sweetie, are you coming home for dinner tonight?” The familiar voice of her mother filtered through. She sighed and stopped watching her phone.

They met through friends. Never expecting what was to happen next. He was a model student. Perfect grades, head of the student council, president of his co-curricular activities, perfect behaviour. She was a rebel. Didn’t have the best of grades, missed most of school, missed most of her co-curricular activities and even had a black mark on her testimonial. Not once did they even consider talking to each other then through their friends. They were worlds apart. More than that. They were galaxies apart.

But their silent love went unnoticed by all even themselves. Even that pair of friends.

there’s been quiet an uproar about the muslim cartoons recently.. the only thing i can say is that i think everyone from the christians to the muslims and the “sitting on the fencers” should simply take a step back and look at everything from a rational point of view. you know the best opinion i’ve heard of so far seems to have come from the prime minister of malaysia and indonesia. seriously.. i mean sarina is my friend, she’s muslim. i’m a pastor’s daughter. does that bother me? no. i’m not about to press my faith on her like there’s no tomorrow? she’s not going to do the same. and even when i forget and ask her if she wants to eat a sausage [which is made from pork] she doesn’t mind. she doesn’t go oh no you’ve insulted my religion therefore i’m not going to talk to you anymore! doesn’t happen. get a life. seriously..

She never seemed to understand how I felt. She’d only pay attention to me when it was just the two of us. Yet, when I was infront of everyone, she’d ignore me like I didn’t exist. When she thought no one was looking, she would nag me. When I tried to tell her how I felt, she wouldn’t listen.

Nobody knew about their silent love. Nobody cared. Nobody wanted to know. Even when they found out, they went on like they never saw or heard of it. Instead, they kept quiet.

MY HIP HURTS

and its getting worse! when i did cool down? the pain had spread from my right side of my hip to the left and then to my upper thigh and then my upper left thigh started to cramp up.. and i think i stretched more than all the other lee house girls there with exception for the trackers.. help.. really.. help me someone..

i’ve been given anti inflammatory pain relief pills, muscle relaxant painkiller pills and anti-inflammatory analgesic gel as well as an 7 day pe/training mc.. hopefully that in 7 days time i am fine.. if not i’ll have to go for an x-ray and probably taken out of sports day.. pray for me please..

We went slightly early and we didn’t really know where to go so we wandered around the canteen before walking around when we spotted the main area of the open house. Seeing as how we were early we had personal attention!! ^^ Hahaha.. We got goodie bags and some brochures, did a lucky draw before going into the convention centre. The L1R4 Cutoff point for Mass Comm. is 10. Tell me how I’m going to do that?

My ideal L1R4/R5 would be:

English: A1
Combined Humanities: A1
Music:A1
Math: B4
Art/Pure Lit: B3/A2
Combined Science: B4

Which makes out about 9 or 10 points for L1R4 or 14 points for L1R5 but other than english, music and combined humanities, I’m really scared for the other three subjects. If I’m going to JC then it would be okay ‘cos I get 4 points off at ACJC ‘cos of CCA and affliation. If only I can do so well. The only thing is that I want to do mass comm. Really. Dad keeps telling me keep your options open but the underlying meaning is that he wants me to go to JC whereas jiejie and korkor have been telling me go to poly. My sister who is doing comm. studies at NTU says that the people which are at the top of the industry are all those with poly and uni comm. studies dips. The only thing is, WILL I BE ABLE TO GET INTO UNI AFTER POLY? Sigh.. Hope so..

Went to daily scoop to take pictures for art research! Hehehehe. Uploading the pictures as we speak onto flicker for easy viewing. Ate ice cream at the same time. DUH.

Finally manged to buy my silver polish to polish my flute head. Yay! Its shiny again! Hahaha. I went down to chinatown to meet my parents and sister after flute. Saw some really cute chopsticks, ate some sausage, and saw some lion dancing! The different shops/restaurants in chinatown had hired lion dancers and musicians or rather percussionists to dance for good luck at their shops and they even used the orange slices to write “have a good buisness” in chinese on the floor!

Brother had another debate at the dinner table today. People ask me where I got it from. Sigh.
